Nevada Missouri woman charged with breaking infant’s bones

A woman from Nevada, Missouri, is accused of breaking several bones of a 5-month old baby that was in her care.
Court documents charge 49-year-old Tonya Lynn Reynolds with felony child abuse after the baby had two broken bones in his left arm, three broken ribs and two broken ankles.
Reynolds claimed the baby was bit by the cat over the weekend. She also told investigators the dog got excited and jumped on the infant.
Doctors at Children’s Mercy told investigators that the injuries were consistent with yanking or pulling and with the baby being shook or squeezed excessively.
She was booked into jail with a $50,000 cash-only bond.
She will be back in court Thursday.
