Change clock – change battery in smoke detector

Dustin Lunow with the Joplin Fire Department was on the KZRG Morning Newswatch discussing vital safety concerns as Daylight Saving Time commenced over the weekend, which can lead to increased risks of accidents and health issues.

Lunow advised to take extra precautions while driving. 

He highlighted the importance of smoke detector maintenance, urging residents to change batteries alongside clock adjustments and to regularly test these devices for home safety. 

Barbecue safety tips were discussed, including keeping grills away from flammable structures and surfaces.
