Joplin Expo event center opening this summer

A big event center is coming to Joplin’s Northpark Mall.
Jeremy Morris, the director of sales for Joplin Expo, an event center to be located in the former Macy’s space at Northpark Mall, is set to open in mid-summer with bookings already scheduled for August.
The facility will feature two primary spaces: a 40,000 square-foot area for larger trade shows and a 9,000 square-foot ballroom for smaller events.
Morris told the KZRG Morning Newswatch that the economic benefits of the expo collaboration with local organizations is projecting a significant influx of visitors that could positively impact surrounding businesses.
Future developments include a permanent shopping area and café.
Some future events, including Jomo Con and a coin and stamp show, as well as a home show in 2026 were mentioned by Morris.
