Branson-area woman pleads guilty in connection to trying to sell Elvis Presley’s home

A woman from southwestern Missouri has changed her plea to guilty in a scheme to sell Graceland, the home of rock-and-roll icon Elvis Presley.
Lisa Jeanine Findley of Kimberling City initially pleaded not guilty, but during a court appearance in Memphis Tuesday morning, she changed her plea, admitting to one count of mail fraud.
Prosecutors say Findley falsely claimed that she loaned nearly 4 million dollars to Elvis’s daughter, and that Lisa Marie Presley put up Graceland as collateral.
After Lisa Marie’s death two years ago, Findley allegedly threatened to auction off Graceland to the highest bidder unless the Presley family paid her nearly 3 million dollars in settlement money.
An auction had been scheduled in May of last year but was halted by a lawsuit filed by actress Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s daughter and Elvis’s granddaughter.
Findley, meanwhile, faces a potential 20-year prison sentence.
