Joplin intersection reopens
The intersection of 4th Street and Murphy Boulevard in Joplin, Missouri is open to all traffic and is currently operating as a four-way stop.
The work on the signals and roadway is completed. The permanent pavement markings will be added when the temperature allows, and various beautification elements will be completed soon. The intersection will remain a four-way stop while work continues in the area.
Drivers should anticipate a few short-term (one-day) closures to part of the intersection to allow for the completion of the remaining work. Stay tuned to Newstalk KZRG for updates.
Upon completion, this project will offer new traffic signals, turn lanes, intersection enhancements, sidewalks, and beautification elements in this area. Stormwater work in the area was also part of this project.
The $1.7 million infrastructure project is funded through the Capital Improvement Sale Tax, and Use Tax revenues are being used for the beautification efforts.
