Missouri Congressman Burlison co-sponsoring UNPLUG-EV Act

Southwest Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison is co-sponsoring a bill that would halt federal funding to build charging stations for electric vehicles.
The so-called UNPLUG-EVs Act would rescind funding authorized under the infrastructure act signed by former President Joe Biden.
In a press release, Burlison says he wants to ensure that taxpayers are not subsidizing “another government-mandated environmental scam.”
Meanwhile, EV maker Tesla builds, owns, and operates charging stations in North America, Europe, and Asia. Tesla received over 17 million dollars in grants from the Biden Administration.
The company is owned by billionaire Elon Musk, who heads the Trump Administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.
