Police investigating burglary that injured Duenweg laundromat owner

UPDATE: A man from Galena, Kansas, is in custody facing charges related to the incident.
Police in Duenweg, Missouri, are searching for a suspect after a local business owner suffered a gunshot wound this morning.
Chief Jeff Pearce says it happened around 7:20am at the Route 66 Coin Laundry on East 7th Street.
Chief Pearce tells Newstalk KZRG that the owner of the laundromat stopped the burglary in progress, but during a struggle with the suspect, was shot with his own gun.
He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, who fled the scene, is being described as a 6-foot white male and was wearing a mask.
Chief Pearce says they are going through surveillance footage and hope to have more identifying details about the man soon.
Jasper County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were also on scene this morning.
