Newton County Sheriff’s office probing vandalism cases

During November and December of 2024, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office received reports of vandalism in the area of Kodiak Rd. and Ridgewood Rd. in Neosho.

Newton County Sheriff Matt Stewart says that during one of the incidents, it was reported that a bottle and eggs were used to break a window causing $1,881 in damage.

Another incident was reported in the same area where two residences were vandalized using an orange and rocks, causing around $2,000 in damages.

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation and with the assistance of the public, they were able to identify the juvenile offenders. This case has been sent to the Juvenile Office for further follow-up.
