An update on the winter weather set to impact the Four State area
Late this afternoon, a Winter Weather Advisory will impact much of the area with accumulating snowfall likely to begin and take place through Friday afternoon.
Travel will likely be impacted Friday morning. The snow will start to impact the area around 5 p.m. this evening.
Southern portions of the Four States will also be under a Winter Storm Warning, with increased snowfall totals likely, which will run along and south of Highway 60.
The highest snowfall amounts will be south of I-44 towards the Missouri and Arkansas border. Joplin, Neosho, and Carthage are in the range of 2-5 inches of snow, while the Pittsburg and Nevada areas will see 2-4 inches of snow.
Anderson in McDonald County and the Cassville and Monett areas in Barry County as well as much of Northwest Arkansas are looking at 3-6 inches of snow in the northern portions of the Winter Storm Warning.
