Broadband bill sponsored by Missouri Congressman Graves signed into law
A bill by northern Missouri Congressman Sam Graves to expand broadband access has been signed into law by President Biden.
The E-BRIDGE Act will remove obstacles from some federal grants that can delay building new broadband infrastructure, including so-called last-mile efforts at the end of projects.
Graves, a Republican, says completing that “last mile” sometimes stands in the way of connecting people to jobs.
The new law is designed to attract new businesses and support existing ones in rural and economically distressed areas.
The E-BRIDGE Act was part of a larger bill on developing and conserving water resources.
