Aurora man arrested for having bomb-making materials in his apartment

A man from Aurora, Missouri, is facing charges after he allegedly had bomb-making materials inside his apartment.

56-year-old Lance Bishop was taken into custody Sunday night.

Court documents state Bishop was armed with a machete and had been verbally harassing a woman who was helping her friend move items out of her apartment.

Officers say after a long negotiation, Lance said he would exit the rear of his residence, but if any officers tried anything thing he had a “kill switch” and would use it, which indicated to me Lance was possibly in possession of a bomb.

They then obtained a search warrant and found pipe bomb material within his residence.

A bomb squad was called to the scene and the apartment complex was evacuated as investigators made those materials safe and secure.

He now faces several charges, including 1st-degree making a terroristic threat.
