Man from Springfield faces charges after Christmas Day homicide

A Springfield man faces first degree murder charges in the death of 77-year-old Lois Jones of Springfield.

Station KY3 reports that 63-year-old Robert Collins was taken into custody after police received a report about a deceased woman on Christmas Day.

Investigators say that Collins was trying to blow up the house in Springfield.

Jones’ body was found badly beaten.

It was Springfield’s 14th homicide of 2024.
