Rep. Cleaver pushes U.S. Postal Service on delivery standards
Missouri Congressman Emanuel Cleaver is again criticizing the U.S. Postal Service for lowering delivery standards for the 2025 Fiscal Year.
The Democrat from Kansas City sent a letter to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, accusing the agency of choosing to “lower its service standards” instead of addressing issues that caused the USPS to miss its goals.
Cleaver says the issues could lead to further reductions in mail service, thereby eroding the public’s trust.
Cleaver previously expressed concerns about USPS performance, including issues with six-day mail delivery and price increases on stamps.
He is sponsoring several bills in the U.S. House to address the Postal Service’s performance issues.
