MSSU Invites the community to celebrate the season

JOPLIN, Mo—The Missouri Southern State University community is spreading holiday cheer this season with the much-anticipated Holiday Happenings.

This Thursday, Dec. 5th from 2-8 p.m. on the MSSU campus at 3950 E. Newman Road in Joplin, MSSU will host a day filled with festive activities, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun on campus. All are invited to join in the seasonal celebrations.

Event Highlights:

  • Pictures with Santa: Bring your little ones for a magical moment with Santa Claus and capture the perfect holiday photo.
  • Holiday Maker’s Market: Shop unique handmade gifts from local artisans and vendors.
  • Performances: Enjoy live music, including performances by MSSU student groups.
  • Holiday Games and Activities: From Christmas card making, carriage rides, ice skating and mansion tours, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
  • Food and Refreshments: Warm up with seasonal treats and hot drinks available throughout the event provided by regional food truck offerings.

“We’d love to have the community out for our Holiday Extravaganza! We have so many unique, exciting, fun, and free opportunities for the whole family! It’s going to be a great night in our winter wonderland!” said Kaylea Furgerson, Director of Student Activities and Event Organizer.

Parking is free, and the event is open to all ages. Media partners are welcome to attend and engage with institutional and community representatives.
