Discussion of Memorial Hall planned at Joplin City Council meeting
The Joplin City Council meets Monday night.
Agenda items include a discussion of the future of Memorial Hall.
The discussion will feature a presentation by the TempleLive group about restoring the Hall.
TempleLive has revitalized similar structures in other cities in the nation including Fort Smith Arkansas, Wichita, Kansas and Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.
The Council also will review plans to build a Veterans Memorial Park on the Memorial Hall site if Memorial Hall is eventually torn down.
The Council also will consider a proposed Take-Home Car option for some Joplin Police officers.
The Council will review an ordinance that would authorize the city to enter into an Economic Development Services Agreement with the Joplin Regional Alliance for Healthcare and Health Science (JRAH) for the purpose of fostering healthcare and health-related business growth and economic development in Joplin.
The meeting gets underway at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall at 602 S. Main in Joplin.
