Road work to begin soon at Zora/Dusquesne
Beginning Monday, November 11, the intersection of Zora Street and Duquesne Road/Hall Street will be closed to all traffic as the intersection improvement project moves into the next phase.
Soft closures will be placed at Zora St at Range Line Rd, Zora St at Hwy 249, and Newman Rd at Duquesne Rd. Soft closure means through-traffic is diverted at the point of the soft closure, but drivers can still access the local residences between the intersection and the aforementioned soft closures. However, drivers will not be able to go through the intersection of Zora Rd and Duquesne Rd.
Detour routes will be posted. All traffic, including truck traffic accessing the Joplin/Webb City Industrial Park, will be detoured via Newman Rd to Range Line Rd or via Hwy 171 to Madison St.
This closure will remain in effect through the remainder of the project.
This project is anticipated to be completed before spring. Please watch for updates. The City appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as this intersection is made safer and more efficient for traffic flow in the area. This project is funded by the Capital Improvement Sales Tax which was approved by voters in 2014.
