Head of Missouri National Guard moving to leadership position in Europe
The leader of the Missouri National Guard is moving to Europe and moving up in rank.
Major General Levon E. Cumpton, the Adjutant General of the Missouri National Guard, has been chosen as the U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s Chief of Staff and Deputy Commanding General for the Army National Guard.
Cumpton has served as adjutant general in Missouri since August of 2019, with command and control of over 12,000 soldiers, airmen, and federal and state employees.
The next governor of the State of Missouri will appoint General Cumpton’s replacement. His new position begins in February.
