Representative Ben Baker on unconstitutional Halloween sign law ruling
Earlier this month, a federal judge ruled that it was unconstitutional for sex offenders to be forced to post a sign in Missouri on Halloween saying “No candy or treats at this residence.”
Neosho state representative Ben Baker told Newstalk KZRG:
“I protect my children by not participating and not knocking on the doors of strangers in their houses on Halloween. That’s how we do it, but that ensures then that we don’t encounter a sex offender. I want Missouri to be safe for children. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to put up a sign, but overall, I think parents should not rely on a sign to protect their children either.”
