Learn more about Joplin City government at Council in the Park
Do you have questions or concerns about how your municipal government works?
Want a chance to meet your council members?
You can do that and more at Council in the Park.
This is not a formal meeting of the council, there is no agenda, and no items will be voted on. Up to three council members will be present at each of these Council in the Park events over the next year, to avoid having a quorum of council present, as no official city business will be decided during these events.
The first one will be held at Ewert Park tonight [Monday, October 14] from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Future sessions include:
- Monday, January 13, 2025: Joplin History & Mineral Museum
- Monday, April 15, 2025: Joplin Athletic Complex
- Monday, July 14, 2025: Cunningham Park
These events provide Council members a chance to meet and engage with the public to answer questions, listen to ideas, and address concerns
