Spavinaw man charged with being a felon in possession of firearm, ammunition
United States Attorney Clint Johnson Wednesday announced the results of the October Federal Grand Jury 2024-A Indictments in the Northeast District of Northern Oklahoma.
The return of an indictment is a method of informing a defendant of alleged violations of federal law, which must be proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt to overcome a defendant’s presumption of innocence.
43-year-old Clint Kyle Sutton, a resident of Spavinaw and a member of the Cherokee Nation, is charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition, knowing he was previously convicted of felonies.
Additionally, Sutton is charged with willfully and maliciously destroying property not belonging to him.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office are the investigative agencies.
