Missouri boots are on the ground in hurricane country to help restore power and repair power damages
Hurricane Helene has left roughly two-million people without power along the East Coast.
Ameren has deployed more than 300 workers and contractors from Missouri and Illinois to help restore power and repair power-related damages in Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia.
Despite the safety risks of downed power lines, live wires, and debris, Nick Henderson, with Ameren Missouri, says the work is impactful for the line crews.
“Just being able to provide them power so that they can have refrigerated food, or air conditioning, or things like that, makes a huge difference for our linemen, and they really, really appreciate and enjoy doing it,” he says.
Henderson says while the workers are along the East Coast,
Ameren is still prepared to handle power problems that come up in Missouri.
