Accident on I-44 in Fidelity causes serious injuries to Joplin woman

A crash on I-44 in Fidelity east of Joplin at 5:54 Friday evening has left a woman from Joplin in serious condition.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when an eastbound 2012 Acura MDX driven by 19-year-old Kylie L. Harnden of Tulsa was struck from the year by an eastbound 2007 Nissan Versa driven by 29-year-old Saraina M. Tilton of Joplin.

Harneen, who was wearing a safety device, had no injuries.

Tilton, who was not wearing a safety device, suffered serious injuries.

She was transported to Mercy-Joplin Hospital.
