Pittsburg man crashes Harley during rain storm on I-49

A man from Pittsburg, Kansas crashed his Harley during a rainstorm early Thursday afternoon on I-49 about 5 miles north of Joplin.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 24-year old Gary Coen of Pittsburg was northbound when he lost control of the motorcycle in the rain and overturned.

He was wearing a safety device.

Coen suffered moderate injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Joplin.
