National Guard readiness center groundbreaking ceremony
There’s a National Guard readiness center groundbreaking ceremony next week.
Governor Mike Parson and the Missouri National Guard Adjutant General Levon Cumpton will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bellefontaine Neighbors National Guard readiness center.
It consists of nearly 64-thousand-square-feet of space and includes an assembly hall, classrooms, kitchen, admin office space, unit storage, and work bays for vehicle maintenance.
The center will accommodate parking for a military motor pool large enough for 273 wheeled vehicles and trailer towed equipment.
Once complete, the readiness center will be the headquarters for 307 soldiers assigned to the 3175th Chemical Company and the 1138th Transportation Company.
The 27-point-8-million-dollar project will be paid for with federal and state
