March to Arch tradition to honor 9/11 victims returns to St. Louis
The March to the Arch tradition, to remember the victims of the September 11th 2001 terror attacks, is back Wednesday in St. Louis.
One man 23 years ago, Bo Drochelman wanted to do something that day, so he took his American flag from his porch and started walking. Bob Conway is a volunteer.
“And then Bo has been doing it every year, and a lot of people have volunteered to do it with them.”
And how much has it grown over the years?
“It’s grown quite a bit. There’s several people who have pre-registered plus we have a lot of people who will just show up the day of the walk and join us from whatever point they want to join us.”
They will leave at 9:11 Wednesday morning from Mike Duffy’s at 141 and Clayton Road. Conway says some people join for a mile or two, others walk the entire route to the Gateway Arch.
