11-year-old seriously injured in weekend accident in Vernon County

An eleven-year-old girl from Milo was seriously injured in a 4-wheeler accident in Vernon County around 5:05 Saturday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the child was operating a 2008 Artic Cat 4-Wheeler on 2850 Road three miles north of Montevallo when it overturned in the roadway.

The girl suffered serious injuries. She was Life-Flighted to Mercy Springfield.

An occupant on the vehicle, 51-year-old Carl E. Saderstrom of Milo had moderate injuries. He was taken by private vehicle to Mercy-Springfield.

Neither of the injured was wearing a safety device.
