Deadline coming up for regional educators’ conference

Educators who want to explore the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in education, including generative AI, student behaviors, and teacher retention/recruitment, have until Sept. 10 to register for a regional leadership conference at the discounted price.

It is being organized by the College of Education at Pittsburg State University and will be held in the Overman Student Center on Oct. 10.

Known as the KAMO Leadership Conference, it is open to educators in Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

This year’s theme, “Hot Topics in Education,” will feature thought-provoking discussions and insights from current practitioners, and will help participants collaborate with fellow leaders to find innovative solutions.

“This conference is your opportunity to be the expert in the room and contribute to the dialogue that can shape the future of education in the region,” said Associate Professor Jason Clemensen, interim chair of the Teaching and Leadership Department at PSU.

A former attendee said of the conference, “I left empowered to make positive changes in my district and a way to implement those changes.”

Until Sept. 10, registration is $75. After Sept. 10, it is $95.

Graduate Credit:

The 2024 KAMO Leadership Forum will be offered for 1-graduate credit hour (attendance and follow-up assignment required).
