Man from Illinois gets probation in fatal 2021 boating incident
A man from Illinois has been sentenced to two years probation after pleading guilty to Boating While Intoxicated charges in an accident that killed one person at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Dylan McEwen was given the probation sentence in Camden County.
Back in 2021, State Troopers found a half-dozen pasengers who said they had jumped from the boat but 21-year-old Sean Jouglard was missing.
Investigators said that when Trooper Brian Geier arrived, he found six passengers on the boat and said Sean Jouglard, 21, was missing. Investigators revealed that the passengers claimed they were all jumping off the boat when they noticed Jouglard was not there.
A toxicology report from the MSHP crime lab showed McEwen’s blood alcohol level was .187 a full three hours after the accident occurred.
Investigators say witnesses claimed the boat went too fast through the main channel. Jouglard was ejected and was killed.
