Osage Beach police officer killed in accident during pursuit
A police officer from Osage Beach, Missouri, has died following a traffic accident during a pursuit early Saturday morning.
Police say an officer tried to stop a high-speed driver on U.S. 54. That chase continued and another officer joined the pursuit.
That officer then crashed her vehicle on State Highway A. Her patrol car caught fire and she was pronounced dead at short time later.
The officer has been identified as Phylicia Carson. She joined the department last year and leaves behind a husband and six children.
One person is in custody at this time.
