Judge stops Attorney General from investigating media advocacy group
A federal judge stops the Attorney General from investigating a media advocacy group.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has been blocked from investigating a media advocacy group after it criticized Elon Musk’s handling of hate speech on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Bailey accused Media Matters of manipulating the social media algorithm to make advertisers’ content appear next to controversial posts, thus pressuring them to pull the ads altogether.
The judge sided with critics who accused the investigation of infringing on the group’s First Amendment rights.
The Texas Attorney General was barred earlier this year from pursuing a similar case.
