Man from Jay charged with assaulting partner by strangulation

United States Attorney Clint Johnson has announced the results of the August Federal Grand Jury 2023-B Indictments in the Northern District of Oklahoma.

31-year-old Markell Juanye Grass of Jay, a member of the Cherokee Nation, is charged with assaulting an intimate and dating partner by strangulation.

The return of an indictment is a method of informing a defendant of alleged violations of federal law, which must be proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

The FBI and the Jay Police Department are the investigative agencies.
