Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity receives $10,000 grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation
Joplin, MO – Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that partners with the community to improve access to affordable housing, has received a $10,000 grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation.
This grant will be used in the Habitat house construction program where low income families who qualify work to build their home and in the end the home is sold at no profit and at a 0% interest rate.
“Creating equitable opportunities for our community requires resources, and we appreciate support from the U.S. Bank Foundation, which helps us continue to build and expand our housing programs,” said Scott Clayton, executive director.
“Safe and stable housing helps children, families and communities thrive. Working with Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity helps in several ways by creating access to affordable housing, helping homebuyers gain financial knowledge and tools to own and maintain a home, and incorporating energy-efficient features into housing. All of these aspects are investments that will be beneficial for generations to come,” said Kristen Polchinski, community affairs manager, U.S. Bank.
U.S. Bank is committed to powering human potential and creating lasting change in communities. The bank does this through the Community Possible platform, including philanthropy, community investments and team member volunteerism.
