Hawley rallies supporters in Webb City for re-election campaign
Missouri U.S. Senator Josh Hawley has begun his re-election campaign, rallying in Webb City Friday afternoon.
Hawley told a group of supporters at the Route 66 Movie Theater that it is time to “Take America Back.”
He is seeking a second-term after defeating Claire McCaskill in the 2018 election.
Hawley faces a challenge from Democrat Lucas Kunce. Kunce lost to Trudy Busch-Valentine in the 2022 Democratic primary. Busch-Valentine then lost to Eric Schmitt in the general election.
Hawley and Kunce have been going back and forth on X about setting up a debate, Kunce claims Hawley is running from him, but Hawley says he’s ready to debate at the Missouri State Fair next week.
Hawley went on to say that Kunce and his friends, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi have pushed our country into crisis and that the border is wide open.
Hawley claims Kunce wants to ban all oil and gas in America and take away your pickup truck.
Lucas Kunce wants to outlaw every gas and diesel truck in Missouri. Seriously. It’s nuts. But it’s Kunce! pic.twitter.com/uCrbE4wmEB

Hawley says public safety is top of mind for Missouri voters he’s spoken all across the state.
Hawley spoke a little bit about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz being named Kamala Harris’ running mate.
Newsweek reports an Emerson College poll from July 10-11, shows Hawley up by 9 points.
