NEO’s Tatiana Taylor named to association position

Miami, Oklahoma — Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College vocal music instructor and director of choirs Dr. Tatiana Taylor is now the two-year college repertoire and resources chair for the Southwestern American Choral Directors Association (SWACDA).

Originally from Northwest Arkansas, Dr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Rhodes College and a Master in Music in choral conducting from the University of Oklahoma.

She completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Music from the University of Southern California with an emphasis in sacred music, music education, and vocal pedagogy.

“I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to be of service in this way,” said Taylor. “I am looking forward to learning and growing in this new role and working with some new and old colleagues on this committee.”

SWACDA chairs and coordinators provide vital content, support, vision, and resources for every major area of choral work. They share their expertise in a specific choral area and serve as leaders in collaboration, communication, and commitment. Chairs provide textbook knowledge and leadership to others, and serve as conductors, composers, and constituencies who share similar interests.
