Billings resident dies in Saturday morning crash in Lawrence County

There was a fatal crash on Missouri 12, two miles west of Billings in Lawrence County early Saturday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 1:50 Saturday morning when a vehicle driven 18-year-old Jaylyn N. Bourne-Padilla of Billings went off the roadway and hit a tree.

She was pronounced dead just before 3 a.m. at Cox South Hospital in Springfield

It was southwest Missouri Troop D’s 56th fatality so far in 2024.
