MU gets rid of its DEI division

The University of Missouri is getting rid of its diversity, equity, and inclusion division.

This overlaps with the division’s Vice Chancellor Maurice Gipson’s departure.

MU System President Mun Choi noted that, over the past two years, there have been 13 DEI-targeted legislative bills in Jefferson City that lawmakers sought to ban diversity efforts.

The university’s response to these legislative attempts included ending diversity hiring statements and ending race-based scholarships, sometimes referred to as ‘affirmative action’.

To date, 28 states reportedly have introduced DEI-targeted legislation, 14 of which have become law, along with entire DEI divisions being eliminated at some top universities.
