Pittsburg man arrested with fentanyl, meth in Cherokee County
CHEROKEE COUNTY KS — Just after 9 p.m. on Monday night, a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle in Weir.
During the course of the stop, a significant amount of methamphetamine along with pure fentanyl was located and seized.
The operator of the motorcycle, 25-year-old Alex Colton Harman, of Pittsburg, was arrested and transported to the Cherokee County Jail.
Harman is being held on allegations of Possessing Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Vehicle Registration, No Vehicle Insurance and Operating without a License.
“This traffic stop and drug seizure of methamphetamine and pure Fentanyl, is the second significant seizure in the past two weeks with a combined potential street value of approximately $10,000. I’m appreciative of the commitment demonstrated by law enforcement in proactively working to remove this poison from our community and holding those who distribute it, accountable,” stated Chief Deputy Nate Jones.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
