Four-million awarded to help Missourians land high-wage jobs
Millions have been awarded to help residents land high paying jobs.
The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development has received a four-million-dollar federal grant that will help residents get high-wage jobs in high-demand industries.
The Department will use the money to launch the Missouri Strategies for Training and Apprentice Readiness, or MO-STAR project.
It will put 625 residents on a path to land long-term employment in skilled, high-wage jobs through pre-apprenticeship programs.
It aims to build a more diverse and skilled workforce by serving underrepresented populations such as Black, Hispanic, women, veterans, and disabled Missourians.
The Missouri department was one of 43 awardees across the country to receive the grant.
