Deadline is almost here for Missouri GOP to turn in panel of 54 delegates for national convention
The deadline is almost here for the Missouri Republican Party to turn in its panel of 54 delegates for the national convention.
The Republican National Committee has given the Missouri GOP until 4-PM today to select new delegates for the presidential convention.
The deadline follows the national Republican Party rejecting Missouri’s original slate of 54 delegates for this month’s convention.
According to the Missouri Independent, the state convention in Springfield was “chaotic” and the delegates selected were not properly credentialed.
Republican gubernatorial candidates Bill Eigel and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft were among the slate of rejected delegates.
In a statement from the Missouri Republican Party, it says it remains focused on selecting a delegation that will represent Missouri well at the Republican National Convention this month.
