Fireworks safety this Independence Day

Celebrating Independence Day with fireworks has become a tradition.  

But, according to Dustin Luno with the Joplin Fire Department, you need to use them responsibly:  

“A lot of it looks like using it according to manufacturing recommendations.  Don’t use them around combustible materials, things that can ignite very easily.  Use it with proper adult supervision so kids don’t get hurt or get around something they shouldn’t be around.  And then keep your fireworks that are new in the box away from the fireworks you are setting off.”
