Baxter Springs is hosting Cowtown Days

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, you can visit Baxter Springs, Kansas, to take part in Cowtown Days.

“You can relax or you can play,” Baxter Springs Chamber of Commerce Membership Chairman Jacob Patterson told NewsTalk KZRG. “You can shop, you can eat. It’s really whatever each person wants to make it. We have seating for people if you want to just hang out and enjoy the band. We have other activities if you want to play. If you want to come out and enjoy yourself and have a nice weekend, that’s what it’s for.

Today and tomorrow are packed with events for everyone and fun for all ages. Cowtown Days begin this evening with the Full Throttle Band kicking off the event around 6 p.m..

There are free hot dogs and chips (while supplies last) this evening and there will also be a hotdog eating contest at 7:30 Friday night.

On Saturday, the fun begins with free breakfast at 8:30 a.m. before a craft show starts at 9 and a car show at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Kids Zone is also open from 10 to 4.

Other events include a pie-eating contest, a pie auction, and a corn hole tournament.

There will be plenty of live music and local vendors as well, with free prizes being handed out both days.
