“Landspout” damages homes near Joplin airport Thursday afternoon

The National Weather Service in Springfield says it was a “landspout” tornado that damaged homes northwest of the Joplin Regional Airport Thursday afternoon.

Most of the damage was reported in the Dogwood Trail neighborhood of Carl Junction.
