Four from Galena appointed to Route 66 Centennial Commission

TOPEKA – On Friday, Governor Laura Kelly announced  appointments to the Route 66 Centennial Commission and a total 11 appointments and 2 reappointments to state boards and commissions.

Route 66 Centennial Commission
Purpose: To celebrate the centennial anniversary of Route 66 in 2026.

The Commission is composed of representatives recommended by the governors of eight states traversed by Route 66, along with representatives recommended by the US Department of Transportation, and leadership of the US House and Senate.

KS Court of Appeals Nominating Commission
Purpose: To review and nominate candidates for appointment to the KS Court of Appeals.

Purpose: To serve as an oversight board for the design and upkeep of Cedar Crest.Will Lawrence, Governor’s Designee

KS Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Purpose: To advocate for and facilitate equal access to quality, coordinated and comprehensive services that enhance the quality of life for Kansans who are deaf and hard of hearing.

911 Coordinating Council
Purpose: To monitor the delivery of 911 services, develop strategies for future enhancements to the 911 system and distribute available grant funds to Public Safety Answering Points.
