Crawford County driver injured in Pulaski County accident

A driver from Crawford County was injured in a vehicle accident on I-44 in Pulaski County just before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when a westbound 2020 Freightliner driven by 34-year-old Devi Savita of San Jose, California, crossed the centerline and jackknifed.

It then hit a westbound 2019 Freightliner driven by 58-year-old Richard Thenikl of Pittsburg, Kansas.

Thenikl’s tractor-trailer unit then hit a passenger car driven by 34-year-old Pavlo Zazuka of Chicago.

Thenikl suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Mercy-Lebanon Hospital.

The other drivers were not injured.
