Henkle’s Ace Hardware expands Webb City location
When you want to give your customers the best shopping experience possible, you do what it takes to make it happen.
After feeling constricted for some time, Henkle’s Ace Hardware expanded its Webb City location, and anyone with an aspiring green thumb will certainly enjoy it.
“We’ve added 2,500 square feet of greenhouses that are shoppable,” said Henkle’s Ace Hardware Owner Cris Henkle. “It allows our customers to shop for everything that we’ve been growing. Prior to this, it was in a greenhouse they couldn’t really access. Now, they are able to shop with the variety and see everything that is going on.”
With the addition of the greenhouse and plantery area, Henkle’s Ace Hardware feels they are ready to give their customers a better experience with the variety they offer in store.
“We’re excited because we have been a little bit landlocked,” Henkle said. “We couldn’t grow physically very much. We looked at the space we had and thought that we have to find a way to provide service. By tearing down some things and adding some new things, we were able to make it more welcoming for customers.
The expansion debuted about two weeks ago and the feedback has been all positive. The impact has been noticeable right away, and the excitement for the future is gratifying.
“We are excited to see it grow,” Henkle added. “It’s producing a different demographic as well. We’re seeing younger shoppers who are shopping for houseplants and a lot of other people who have not been here before. All of that together is really exciting.”
Of course, one of the bigger advantages to the expansion for Henkle’s Ace Hardware is the ability to provide a year-round experience for the customer.
“We’re able to go more in depth than just having annuals and some perennials now,” Henkle said. “We can be more full service to help them do landscape. Then, we can carry on into the fall with fall mums and pumpkins. We’ve done it before, we just didn’t have a lot of space for it. After that, we can move into Christmas, and we have a full Christmas shop now. It will continue having houseplants but we will have Christmas decor and other things. It’s kind of giving us a place to serve all year round instead of just a couple of months.”
