Head-on accident near Neosho kills one, injures two

An accident on Missouri 175, about 5 miles north of Neosho, has taken the life of a woman from that community.

It happened around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 2018 Nissan driven by 50-year-old Airine Gallen of Neosho crossed the centerline and struck a Lincoln Town Car driven by 21-year-old Joshua Niswonger, also of Neosho, head-on.

Gallen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Niswonger and a passenger in his car, 22-year-old Lakin House, were seriously injured.

The were both taken by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
