Missouri executes man convicted of double murder
Missouri has carried out the execution sentence of Brian Dorsey.
He took his last breath and was declared dead at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday.
The 52-year-old was convicted of the 2006 killings of his cousin Sarah Bonnie, and her husband, Ben, in their central Missouri home.
He went to their home seeking money to pay for a drug debt.
He killed the two with a single shot shotgun.
He then proceeded to rape Sarah’s corpse as their now-orphaned, four-year-old daughter slept in another room.
Requests for mercy from Governor Mike Parson, the Missouri Supreme Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court were all denied.
Missouri now has 11 men awaiting the death penalty.
Tuesday’s execution is the 137th person Missouri has put to death.
