Dorsey’s scheduled execution will proceed
The governor says the state of Missouri will carry out the execution sentence of Brian Dorsey this evening as ordered by the Missouri Supreme Court.
The 52-year-old killed his cousin Sarah Bonnie, and her husband, Benjamin, in their central Missouri home in 2006.
After Dorsey murdered the two, he raped Sarah’s corpse as their four-year-old daughter slept in another room.
More than 70 correctional officers have signed a clemency request asking Governor Mike Parson to spare the inmate’s life, to which he rejected.
Parson, in a statement said: “the pain Dorsey brought to others can never be rectified.”
Last week, the Missouri Supreme Court rejected Dorsey’s request to halt his execution.
The Jefferson City man now asks the U.S. Supreme Court to block the execution.
