Freeman NICU babies celebrate the Solar Eclipse

Nine of Freeman Health System’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) babies celebrated with their parents and nurses for Monday afternoon’s solar eclipse event by “wearing” handcrafted sun patches.

The patches include a black moon with glasses and a smiley face ringed by the yellow sun – that were donated to the NICU earlier this week.

These babies will be 20 years old the next time a solar eclipse occurs in 2044!

Parents received a keepsake solar eclipse sign done by NICU staff with themed snacks such as Moon Pies and Sun Chips.
