Falsely accused Chiefs rally shooter sues three Missouri Republican lawmakers
MissouriNet – Three Republican Missouri lawmakers are being sued over after a Kansas resident was falsely accused of being an “illegal alien” and a mass shooter at February’s Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade.
Senators Rick Brattin, Denny Hoskins, and Nick Schroer are being sued by 48-year-old Denton Loudermill of Olathe.
He alleges that they shared social media posts, falsely accusing Loudermill in the shooting that killed a woman and injured over 20 others.
Brattin, and the other far-right leaning Freedom Caucus members have not said much about the posts.
“I’m not even commenting on that,” Brattin said. “It’s not even part of the discussion.”
According to Kansas City Star, the social media posts caused Loudermill to receive death threats, incur damages of more than $75,000, anxiety and sleep loss.
It appears the social media posts have since been deleted.
